On 19 October, the ITC (Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias) was visited by Monika Hencsey, who is responsible, among others, for the Outermost Regions in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional Policy (DG REGIO).
Hencsey visited the ITC facilities in Gran Canaria, on the occasion of her trip to the Canary Islands to take part in the conference on OR regional insertion. She was given first-hand knowledge of some projects financed with European funds, such as the BIOGREENFINERY project – Green hydrogen for biorefinery (REACT-EU), and the CLIMA-RISK project – searching for technological solutions for adaptation to climate change and preventing and managing risks to natural disasters in countries under the wider neighbourhood strategy (INTERREG MAC 2014-2020).
