On Tuesday February 6, the first hybrid meeting of the “Outermost Regions” working group was held, organized by the RUP Unit of DG REGIO as part of the Commission’s reinforced partnership with the ORs. The nine ORs and their respective Member States, Spain, France and Portugal, participated in this meeting which discussed, among other things, the next implementation report of the 2022 strategy for the outermost regions, the launch of calls for youth projects “Youth4Outermost”, as well as the conclusions of the study on living conditions and access to basic needs and finally the consultative tool for the outermost regions. Furthermore, the last part of the meeting was devoted an open discussion on the future of cohesion policy which provided an opportunity for stakeholders to express their views and make suggestions on the future of cohesion policy in the outermost regions.
