The second edition of this Forum dedicated to the blue economy in ORs and organized by DG MARE, was held on July 9 in Brussels in the premises of the European Commission and in the presence of Commissioner Karmenu Vella and the Director General, João Aguiar Machado. This year’s focus was on the social aspect of the blue economy, highlighting the importance of training and skills, as well as on climate change, the blue bio-economy and blue economy regional strategies, particularly in perspective of the post-2020 period. All the ORs were present and were able to discuss these important issues for our regions.
