The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), along with the Committee of the Regions, is an advisory body of the European institutions. It is composed of representatives of workers and employers’ organizations and other interest groups. It gives opinions on European issues of interest and serves as a link between the European institutions involved in the legislative process and European citizens.
The EESC has issued opinions on issues related to the outermost regions, strengthening its collaboration with the outermost regions in recent years through workshops and round tables on specific issues affecting civil society in these regions.
