On 24 and 25 May, the European Maritime Day (EMD) took place, an annual event during which the European maritime community meets to establish contacts, discuss and outline joint actions in maritime affairs and sustainable blue economy.

The Canary Islands participated, together with other European entities, in the on-site workshop called “Fostering Atlantic renewable energy”. It addressed the opportunities and challenges that the development of offshore/ocean renewable energy represents for the EU as well as the national and European support that will be needed to implement it, including good practices.
