Place: Bruxelles
Date : 09/07/2019 to10/07/2019
The 2018 Outermost Regions Forum focused on two topics: the potential of the Blue economy for the ORs and the state of scientific knowledge and data collection on fisheries and maritime affairs. This year it is proposed to focus discussions on the development of blue economy strategies in the ORs, following the call made by the Commission in the 2017 Communication on all ORs to develop such a strategy. This should also support the preparation of the post-2020 EMFF operational programmes. Special emphasis will be put on social aspects, the risks and opportunities for the blue economy regarding climate change adaptation and the potential of blue bio-economy in these regions.
