Next 20 October, within the framework of the events organised by the Spanish Presidency of the EU, a conference will be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on “the regional integration of the outermost regions”, with the participation of representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the outermost regions and their respective states.
In the context of the debate on the future of Europe, the aim of this event is to reflect for the future on issues such as the notion of “OR regional integration”, the suitability of current EU and national support instruments, in particular EU territorial cooperation programmes (INTERREG), and the need to provide greater flexibility in the implementation of certain common policies, for example in the areas of trade, Fit for 55, competition, transport and fisheries.
