the Outermost regions Forum will be held online October 12, 13 and 14!
An important event for all the actors of the outermost regions, the Outermost regions Forum is a conference which is held every two years in the heart of Brussels and which brings together the Presidents of the 9 outermost regions, the Ministers of their 3 respective Member States, as well as representatives of the European Commission (President, Commissioners, etc.), the European Parliament and more generally of the European institutions.
Organized by the European Commission in close coordination with Mayotte as Chair of the Conference of the Presidents of the Outermost Regions, the 2020 edition of the Forum will be held online due to the current health and sanitary situation.
The focus will be on the negative and unprecedented impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic caused on the economic and social ecosystems of ORs, causing them to become increasingly fragile. The ORs economic recovery remains at the heart of future debates.
Other key topics on the program: climate change, circular and blue economy as strategic development axes for ORs.
For this first online edition, the different sessions are intended to be interactive. Public participation, especially during the “Questions & Answers” session, is scheduled to be live.
