The ORs participated in the Copernicus Conference co-organized by NEREUS, Mercator Ocean and the Azores Regional Government. In a round table dedicated to the ORs, the regions discussed about their various challenges and specificities in the maritime domain and related sectors such as the blue economy, climate change, the environment, fisheries, etc. The importance of access to data relating to the marine environment was underlined, as well as the importance of awareness initiatives for regional actors on the existence of data services, the involvement of public and private sector stakeholders and strengthening skills and training for better knowledge and use of these data information. Cooperation was also discussed as a tool for the exchange of experiences between regions.
