The presidents of the ORs met March 6 both on-site in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, and via video conferencing, in order to hold the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assemblies of the recently created Association of the Conference of Presidents of the Outermost Regions (ORs).
This is an associative entity, constituted under French law, which is the instrumental body of the Conference serving as a tool for the common interest and the implementation of joint actions in areas in which ORs share the same objective.
Last Monday session adopted, among other matters, the appointment of the new Board members, whose presidency is held by the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, as current president of the Conference of Presidents of the Outermost Regions (CPRUP). Likewise, the secretariat has been assumed by the President of Martinique (as former CPRUP President) and the President of La Réunion has been appointed treasurer (as future CPRUP President).
In addition, Association’s action plan and budget were adopted for the year 2023. It was also agreed to change the Association registered office, which will now be located at the Mayotte Regional Council Delegation in Paris.
